Foundation Certificate in Food Hygiene (for all food handlers)

A minimum of six (6) hours training, programmed to suit the needs of your business. This course covers:

Cross Contamination Personal Hygiene
Food and Disease Food Storage
Prevention of Food Poisoning Safe Food Preparation
Cleaning the Workplace Pest Control
Design of Food premises Legislation

This will be followed by a multi-choice exam.  Success leading to a nationally recognised certificate (at basic level).

Awarding body:  The Chartered Institute of Environmental Health


Basic Food Hygiene Update Training

For those whose basic qualifications were achieved in excess of five (5) years ago and need to be refreshed in line with legislation and best practice

Areas covered include:

Hazards - Dealing with the problems that are at the heart of food safety

Controls - Dealing with issues of prevention and control

Legal Compliance - Dealing with the principles of food safety  legislation and the key requirements.

This programme is designed to run for three (3) hours plus exam time and is for everyone who works with food, whatever their job title and responsibilities.

Note:
Proof of completing a Basic Food Hygiene Course within the given time limits is required, only candidates who can produce their original certificate which will be checked by the institute will be eligible for this course.


Special Needs Basic Food Hygiene

This is an alternative route for those who find learning more difficult.  Using the Wigan and Leigh training pack and ongoing assessment

This form of training has no maximum/minimum hours of training, it is used on a individual basis, either in the workplace, or in a realistic working environment and ultimately leads to the Basic Food Hygiene Certificate (for all food handlers) to reinforce good practice.

Food Hygiene Options

This is a unique modular training programme developed specifically to meet the needs of customers and industry.

The Foundation Module  incorporates the minimum level of food hygiene knowledge considered to be the core of all food handling activities.

Other modules are available to pick and mix according to the needs, responsibilities or work activity.

Module B - Cleaning and Disinfection
Module C - Food Pests
Module D - Premises and Equipment
Module E Food Safety Legislation

With other modules being designed and added all the time, this is a certificated course as long as Module A has been completed and a multi-choice examination has been passed.

A minimum of six (6) hours training, programmed to suit the needs of your business. This course covers:

Risk Assessment Occupational health
Work Equipment C.O.S.H.H. Regulations
Electricity Noise
Fire Safety Manual Handling
Personal Protective Equipment First Aid

This will be followed by a multi-choice exam.  Success leading to a nationally recognised certificate (at basic level).
